Job summary

Aurecon in Brisbane is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join the Mining & Resources team. You will partner with clients to deliver innovative mineral processing and infrastructure solutions, guiding multidisciplinary teams and ensuring design solutions meet project goals and commercial drivers.

You’ll coach engineers, contribute to proposals and cost assessments, and help win work. The role requires strong communication, strategic thinking, and proven experience delivering high-quality

Qualifications

• RPEQ registration or eligibility
• Experience delivering projects in mining, manufacturing, oil & gas, energy or related sectors
• Ability to think strategically and develop practical client-focused solutions
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams through concept to construction
• Understanding of industry standards and engineering practices for industrial facilities
• Proven experience applying project delivery methodologies
• Track record of delivering high-quality engineering solutions in complex environments

Responsibilities

• Partner with clients to deliver innovative engineering solutions across mining and resources projects
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve technical problems and deliver integrated outcomes
• Build relationships with clients and guide technical discussions aligning design with project goals and commercial drivers
• Review and guide engineers and designers, ensuring high-quality mechanical design, documentation, models and deliverables
• Support and develop emerging engineers through coaching and mentorship
• Contribute to winning work through proposals, engineering estimates and capital cost assessments
