Job summary

STACK Infrastructure is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer – Solutions Engineering to lead high-quality mechanical solutions for data centre projects from concept to construction and operation. You will provide technical input to sales opportunities, develop PUE assessments, manage consultants and vendors, and review designs for compliance, buildability, and cost-effectiveness.

You will mentor junior engineers and support R&D initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of mechanical engineering experience on complex infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of data centre cooling systems, chillers, CRAH/CRAC, pumps, ventilation and controls.
• Experience developing concept designs, PUE assessments and Basis of Design drawings.
• Proven ability to manage engineering consultants and review designs for accuracy and constructability.
• Experience identifying value-engineering opportunities to reduce costs.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical input for customer sales requirements and concept design.
• Develop initial PUE assessments to support site selection and test-fits.
• Lead long lead equipment documentation and review vendor proposals.
• Update internal drawings and schematics with design changes.
• Direct consultants to achieve design outcomes and ensure deliverables meet requirements.
• Review consultant designs for STACK BOD and customer needs.
• Identify opportunities to remove over-engineering and reduce construction costs.
• Support construction through review and approval of workshop drawings.
• Contribute to R&D for next-generation mechanical solutions.
• Mentor graduate and junior engineers and assist with operational issue root-cause analysis.
