ECA Transport Engineers in Melbourne is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead complex design work in a hands-on role for transport and heavy vehicles. You will own CAD/FEA analyses, mentor graduates, and act as the primary technical contact for clients across government, fleets and dealers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Post-graduate experience of 4+ years in mechanical/auto/heavy vehicle/transport engineering.
• Advanced CAD (AutoCAD, Inventor) and FEA (Inventor Nastran) skills.
• Chartered status (CPEng) and/or NER/engineer registration.
• Ability to mentor, review and lead other engineers.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership: design, development and analysis using CAD/FEA.
• Own certification: prepare, review and sign off technical docs and analyses.
• Deliver senior technical analysis and support for expert witness engagements.
• Mentor junior and graduate engineers to build team capability.
• Engage with clients across government, dealerships and fleets.
• Uphold and improve quality assurance and engineering standards.
