Job summary

ReGenerate Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with FEA and asset integrity expertise. You will develop and validate complex models to assess stress and remaining life, perform Fitness-for-Service assessments, and lead forensic investigations into failures.

Join a team delivering critical asset insights, with engagement across hydro generation, renewables, and industrial facilities. Remote work supported, with regular travel to client sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or Materials Engineering; Master’s/PhD in solid/fracture mechanics is highly regarded.
• 6+ years in structural integrity, advanced stress analysis, and fracture mechanics.
• Proven record in FFS assessments and non-linear FEA on rotating and stationary assets.
• Expert knowledge of API 579-1/ASME FFS-1, BS 7910 and AS/NZS 1170.
• Ability to interpret NDE/NDT results and integrate into integrity models.
• Strong report writing, sound judgement, and ability to work independently.
• CPEng with Engineers Australia; RPEQ advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop, run, and validate complex FEA models to assess stress, strain, and remaining life.
• Conduct Fitness-for-Service assessments to API 579-1/ASME FFS-1, BS 7910 and AS/NZS standards.
• Perform seismic stability, hydrodynamic pressure, and fluid-structure interaction analyses.
• Lead forensic investigations into structural and mechanical failures.
• Develop remediation strategies balancing safety with operational continuity.
• Collaborate with clients, suppliers, manufacturers, and consultancies.
• Create reports turning dense technical content into clear client messages.
