Job summary

Mott MacDonald’s Building Services team in Adelaide is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design delivery on diverse buildings projects across defence, transport, health and life sciences.

Based in Adelaide with interstate candidate openness, you’ll collaborate with engineers, architects and consultants to develop robust mechanical solutions, drive standardised workflows and nurture strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical engineering.
• 8+ years of relevant local experience preferred.
• Strong design creativity with robust technical concept development.
• Commercially aware; lead multidiscipline projects with client relationships.
• Desire to work in a multidisciplinary team and innovate.
• CPEng or ability to attain preferred.
• Ability to attain Defence Clearance; defence experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support building projects across sectors including arts & culture, aviation, defence, transport, civic, and life sciences.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and consultants to drive sustainable design solutions.
• Deliver mechanical designs, drawings, specifications, and calculations.
• Help develop standardised mechanical workflows.
• Participate in client and group meetings to shape project strategies and partnerships.
• Foster a collaborative, creative, purpose-driven workplace culture.
