Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for its Building Services team in Adelaide. You will join a multidisciplinary group delivering mechanical designs for diverse markets and shaping innovative, sustainable solutions across sectors.

The role requires 8+ years locally, strong design creativity, and the ability to lead projects and manage client relationships. A CPEng or path to it is preferred, with Defence clearance experience advantageous.

Qualifications

• Must have degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years of relevant local experience preferred.
• High level of design creativity with robust mechanical concepts.
• Commercially aware with ability to lead multidisciplinary projects and manage client relationships.
• Desire to work in a multidisciplinary team and contribute to workplace culture.
• CPEng or ability to attain preferred.
• Defence clearance / experience preferred.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of exciting projects, our Building Services team in Adelaideis looking for aSenior Mechanical Engineerto join our multidisciplinary team of passionate professionals. In this role, you’ll:

• Support on building projectsacross sectors including arts & culture, aviation, defence, transport, civic, and life sciences.
• Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, architects, and consultants to driveinnovative, sustainable design solutions.
• Technical delivery of mechanical designs, including drawings, specifications and calculations
• Assist in the development of standardised mechanical workflows
• Actively participate in client and group meetings, shaping project strategies and building long-term partnerships.

About You

• A degree in Mechanical engineering.
• At least 8+ yrs of relevant experience based locally preferred
• Possess a high level of design creativity with the ability to develop technically robust structural concepts whilst maintaining a strong focus on the design intent.
• Commercially aware with the ability to successfully lead structural and multidisciplinary projects through all phases whilst managing and developing strong client relationships.
• Desire to work within a multidisciplinary team, driving innovation and excellence, contributing to workplace culture.
• CPEng or an ability to attain preferred.
• Ability to attain Defence Clearance / Defence experience preferred.
