Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead and contribute to brownfield and sustaining capital projects across iron ore, gold, lithium, and base metals in WA. You will deliver mechanical packages through studies to commissioning, mentor engineers and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver fit-for-purpose outcomes.

This is an opportunity to work across the full project lifecycle, from studies and concept development through to detailed design, procurement, construction support and commissioning for Tier 1 mining clients. Working within our Mining & Metals team, you'll lead and contribute to a broad range of sustaining capital and brownfield projects across iron ore, gold, lithium, base metals and mineral processing operations.

• Delivering mechanical engineering packages across studies, design and project execution phases.
• Providing technical leadership and engineering expertise on multidisciplinary mining and processing projects.
• Developing engineering deliverables including reports, specifications, calculations and technical documentation.
• Collaborating closely with process, civil, structural, electrical and project delivery teams to develop integrated engineering solutions.
• Engaging with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver practical, fit‑for‑purpose outcomes.
• Supporting project planning, risk management, cost estimation and engineering governance activities.
• Contributing to the successful delivery of brownfield and sustaining capital projects within operating mining environments.
• Mentoring and supporting developing engineers while contributing to a strong engineering culture., * A strong pipeline of sustaining capital and brownfield work across WA.

About The Candidate

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Ideally 8+ years' experience within mining, mineral processing or industrial projects.
• Strong consulting experience across studies, detailed design and project delivery.
• Experience delivering sustaining capital projects.
• Knowledge of pipelines, pumping systems, slurry handling and process plant infrastructure.
• Exposure to materials handling systems, process equipment and piping design.
• Strong understanding of procurement, vendor management and construction support activities.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Chartered status or progress toward Chartership will be highly regarded.
