Job description

As Tivra continues to grow, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic and diverse team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative environment alongside skilled professionals and experienced mentors.

You will play a key role in designing, coordinating, and delivering high-quality mechanical services for a wide range of building projects, from concept through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed mechanical designs and documentation that meet project requirements, codes, and deadlines.
• Deliver technically sound and cost-effective solutions in line with the National Construction Code (NCC) and Australian Standards.
• Produce and review technical drawings, models, and calculations using AutoCAD, Revit, and relevant design tools.
• Prepare and submit authority applications and liaise with external stakeholders as needed.
• Attend site inspections, client and project meetings, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Conduct building assessments and ensure designs comply with applicable standards.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and project deliverables.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and authorities.

About You

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3–5 years’ experience in mechanical services design within the building services industry.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and relevant mechanical design software.
• Solid understanding of Australian Standards, NCC, and industry practices.
• Strong analytical, communication, and time management skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Positive attitude and a collaborative, team‑focused approach.
• Experience across multiple project sectors (e.g. education, healthcare, commercial, or residential).
• Capability to manage design packages with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with project coordination and client‑facing communication.
• Progress toward or attainment of Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status preferred.
