Job summary

Liftpass is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to own mechanical design from concept through to manufacturing release. You’ll translate customer requirements into practical, safe machines, guiding projects, mentoring peers, and shaping engineering processes.

You will lead design for packaging and automation equipment, collaborate with sales, manufacturing, commissioning and service teams, and contribute to risk assessments and safety reviews as part of a growing business.

Qualifications

• Solid experience designing industrial machinery, automation or material handling equipment.
• Strong 3D parametric CAD and production drawing skills.
• Working knowledge of AS 4024, design verification and design for manufacture.
• Good planning, problem-solving and communication skills across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design on assigned projects, turning customer specifications into manufacturable equipment.
• Work with sales, projects, manufacturing, commissioning and service; support pre-sales concepts and estimates.
• Build concepts, 3D models, assemblies, drawings and BOMs in Creo.
• Plan design work against milestones and raise risks early.
• Carry out design calculations, technical reviews, and drawing checks.
• Apply AS 4024 and safety reviews; contribute to machinery risk assessments.
• Provide hands-on support during assembly, testing, installation and commissioning.
• Collaborate with international manufacturing colleagues to keep outcomes consistent.
