BG&E, now part of the SYSTRA Group, is seeking a Senior Materials and Durability Engineer in Brisbane. You will lead durability projects, perform structure material assessments, and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams on major infrastructure initiatives.

The role requires a strong materials/civil/structural background, 10+ years of experience, and the ability to manage from design to delivery. RPEQ/CPEng are viewed favorably; hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Materials/Structural/Civil Engineering.
• 10+ years relevant post graduate experience.
• Project management experience from design to delivery in major infrastructure environment.
• Practical experience in materials assessment, selection and inspection within a range of structures and environments.
• Excellent inter-personal skills and a willingness to learn.
• Able to work well autonomously.
• RPEQ and CPEng would be viewed very favourably.
• Experience in leading a team would be ideal.

Context

The Role

BG&E’s Materials team is responsible for providing technical advice for construction material selection, assessment and durability for a range of structural engineering projects. Due to continued growth and the award of exciting new projects, a permanent full-time opportunity exists in our Brisbane office.

Missions/Main Duties

Key Accountabilities:

• Lead significant durability projects within major infrastructure projects.

Profile/Skills

About you:

You'll have a strong technical foundation in Materials / Civil / Structural engineering and a desire to contribute to a specialist local and national materials team where you'll demonstrate:

• Tertiary qualifications in Materials/Structural/Civil Engineering.
• 10+ years relevant post graduate experience.
• Project managment experience from design to delivery in major infrastructure environment.
• Practical experience in materials assessment, selection and inspection within a range of structures and environments.
• Excellent inter-personal skills and a willingness to learn.
