Job summary

BG&E, part of the SYSTRA Group, seeks a technically strong Waterproofing Specialist to join our Sydney/Brisbane team. You will deliver waterproofing design input from project start to completion with limited guidance, supporting new-build and retrofit projects across tunnels, buildings and façades.

With 5–10 years in waterproofing design and remediation, you will own technical problem solving and engage with stakeholders across disciplines, operating with a high level of autonomy.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent technical background.
• 5–10 years' experience in waterproofing design, repairs or remediation.
• Experience in consulting, remedial engineering or related roles.
• Strong practical understanding of waterproofing systems.

About the Role
We are seeking a technically strong and self-sufficient Waterproofing Specialist to join our team in Brisbane or Sydney.

• Deliver waterproofing design and technical input from project commencement through to completion, with limited guidance.
• Work across both new-build waterproofing and repair, remedial, and retrofit projects for existing buildings and infrastructure.
• Provide expertise across assets such as tunnels, buildings, and façades.
• Take ownership of technical problem-solving and develop practical, high-quality waterproofing solutions.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and proactively engage with stakeholders across disciplines.
• Operate with a high level of autonomy.
• Contribute to a specialist capability that is uncommon in the market and highly valued by clients.

About You
We are looking for a capable waterproofing professional with strong technical knowledge, sound judgement, and the ability to manage work independently.

• Engineering degree or strong technical certification background.
• 5-10 years of experience in waterproofing design, repairs, remediation, or related technical delivery.
• Background in consulting, remedial engineering, manufacturing, or supplier-based technical roles.
• Strong product knowledge and practical understanding of waterproofing systems.
• Capability to take projects from start to completion with limited supervision.
• Ability to self-manage, use initiative, and work effectively across teams.
• Experience engaging with stakeholders at a level beyond builders and subcontractors.
• Understanding of both new-build waterproofing and repair or retrofit of existing buildings.
