Job summary

Northern Beaches Council is seeking a Senior Marketing Communications Officer Contractor to lead integrated campaigns across a diverse portfolio of services. The role combines creativity with strategic thinking, content creation and stakeholder engagement to inform and engage the community.

The role is a 12-month, full-time contract (35 hours/week) with a salary range of 96,309.15 to 111,927.21 per annum plus super, depending on skills and experience.

Responsibilities

This 12-month opportunity is ideal for an experienced and communications professional who enjoys combining creativity and strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
As a Senior Marketing and Communications Officer, you'll lead integrated campaigns across a diverse portfolio of Council services, provide trusted communications advice, create engaging content and build strong stakeholder relationships. You'll work across multiple channels, using insights and data to deliver impactful communications that inform and engage our community.

Key focus areas:

• Lead integrated campaigns from planning through to delivery and evaluation, measuring performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Provide strategic communications advice to other teams.
• Plan and create compelling content across Council owned and paid channels.
• Write and edit engaging materials for a range of audiences, including news stories, website copy, social media posts, email marketing content and video scripts.
• Lead the planning and production of video content, working with stakeholders and creative partners to bring stories and campaigns to life.
• Coordinate creative assets including photography and design collateral.
• Deliver email marketing campaigns and use analytics to optimise performance.
• Support incident and emergency communications when required.

You're an experienced communications professional who knows how to turn complex information into clear, engaging content and effective campaigns.
You thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple projects and priorities while maintaining a high standard of work.
You're a team player who values collaboration and brings people on the journey. You're equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves and leading projects from start to finish.

You'll bring:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications, production, public relations or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years' experience in a similar role.
• Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills.
• Demonstrated experience planning, producing and delivering video.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to provide feedback while building collaborative relationships.
