Job summary

McConnell Dowell is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to support the planning, coordination and delivery of complex marine works and wharf structures in Geraldton, WA. Working closely with the Project Manager, site supervision and subcontractors, you’ll take ownership of key work packages and ensure works are delivered safely, to the required quality, within program and budget.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Civil, Mechanical, Construction Engineering or related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in project engineering within construction/heavy engineering, ideally marine infrastructure or wharf works.
• Strong capability in coordinating engineering and construction activities, delivering to program, budget and quality requirements.
• Sound knowledge of construction safety, quality assurance and project management processes, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate engineering, planning, quality, scheduling and cost control for allocated work packages.
• Coordinate marine construction and wharf structural works, interpreting drawings and specifications and guiding site teams.
• Monitor progress, resources, costs and schedules, identify risks and manage changes to maintain performance.
• Manage subcontractor and supplier coordination, procurement inputs, technical reviews and tender evaluations.
• Oversee quality assurance, inspections, testing, temporary works verification and audits to ensure compliance.
