Job summary

Commonwealth Bank's Retail Operations is seeking a skilled Workforce Planning leader to own forecasting and capacity planning for a complex portfolio in Sydney/Perth. You will connect demand, capacity and performance to support better workforce decisions and present senior leaders with clear recommendations across hiring, training and cross-skilling.

You will shape strategic decisions, develop scenarios, and translate trends into robust workforce requirements while embedding AI-enabled

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in workforce planning, capacity planning, demand forecasting or operational planning within a large or complex environment.
  • Ability to own workforce planning outcomes and influence senior leaders on complex workforce and capacity decisions.
  • Strong analytical and commercial capability, with an understanding of demand, capacity, productivity, service and cost.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with confidence partnering with and constructively challenging senior leaders.
  • Ability to translate complex information into clear insights, recommendations and actions.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and curiosity about how analytics, automation and AI can improve workforce decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Own workforce planning for your portfolio - connect business demand, capacity and operational performance to support better workforce decisions.
  • Shape strategic and operational decisions - provide senior leaders with clear recommendations and trade-offs across capacity, allocation, hiring, training and cross-skilling.
  • Lead forecasting and capacity planning - translate demand, workload trends, FTE, leave, shrinkage and productivity into robust workforce requirements.
  • Develop scenarios and recommendations - identify capacity gaps and opportunities and inform decisions across allocation, hiring, training and cross-skilling.
  • Influence through insight - act as a trusted adviser to senior leaders, translating complex analysis into clear actions.
  • Embed proactive planning rhythms - connect demand, capacity and performance through structured daily, weekly and monthly planning.
  • Improve planning outcomes - monitor forecast accuracy, challenge assumptions and continuously improve workforce utilisation, productivity, service and cost outcomes.
  • Champion new capability - embed advanced forecasting, analytics and AI-enabled tools into workforce planning and identify opportunities to improve how workforce decisions are made.
