Job summary

Commonwealth Bank is seeking a Senior Workforce Planning Manager to own forecasting, capacity planning and actionable workforce decisions across Retail Operations portfolios in Australia. You will partner with senior leaders to translate customer demand into robust plans and embedding AI-enabled planning capabilities.

Work across short, medium and long horizons to balance demand, capacity, productivity and cost.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in workforce planning, capacity planning, demand forecasting or operational planning within a large or complex environment.
• Demonstrated ability to own workforce planning outcomes and influence senior leaders on complex workforce and capacity decisions.
• Strong analytical and commercial capability, with an understanding of demand, capacity, productivity, service and cost.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with confidence partnering with and constructively challenging senior leaders.
• Ability to translate complex information into clear insights, recommendations and actions.
• A continuous improvement mindset and curiosity about how analytics, automation and AI can improve workforce decisions.

• Own workforce planning for your portfolio - connect business demand, capacity and operational performance to support better workforce decisions.
• Shape strategic and operational decisions - provide senior leaders with clear recommendations and trade-offs across capacity, allocation, hiring, training and cross-skilling.
• Lead forecasting and capacity planning - translate demand, workload trends, FTE, leave, shrinkage and productivity into robust workforce requirements.
• Develop scenarios and recommendations - identify capacity gaps and opportunities and inform decisions across allocation, hiring, training and cross-skilling.
• Influence through insight - act as a trusted adviser to senior leaders, constructively challenging assumptions and translating complex analysis into clear actions.
• Embed proactive planning rhythms - connect demand, capacity and performance through structured daily, weekly and monthly planning.
• Improve planning outcomes - monitor forecast accuracy, challenge assumptions and continuously improve workforce utilisation, productivity, service and cost outcomes.
• Champion new capability - embed advanced forecasting, analytics and AI-enabled tools into workforce planning and identify opportunities to improve how workforce decisions are made.

As Senior Workforce Planning Manager , you will own workforce planning for Retail Operations portfolios, partnering with senior leaders to translate customer and business demand into robust forecasts, capacity plans and actionable workforce decisions.

Working across short, medium and longer-term horizons, you will bring together demand, workforce availability, productivity and operational performance to anticipate capacity requirements and recommend actions across workforce allocation, hiring, training and cross-skilling.

You will also help embed advanced forecasting, analytics and AI-enabled planning capabilities, supporting our shift from reactive workforce planning towards a more proactive and data-driven workforce intelligence capability.
