Job summary

CommBank is seeking a senior professional to drive end-to-end work design engagements, aligning work design with broader workforce and organisational objectives. You will partner with HR and business leaders to anticipate how AI, technology and strategic change reshape roles and skills, and translate data into actionable insights for executive decisions.

You will lead diagnostics, future-state design and recommendations, facilitating discussions and shaping sustainable, workforce-ready solutions

Qualifications

• Experience leading complex work design, organisation design, organisational effectiveness or workforce transformation initiatives through specialist, consulting, HRBP or related roles.
• Strong problem-solving, facilitation and storytelling capabilities with ability to influence senior leaders and drive alignment.
• Understanding of how emerging technologies, including AI, are reshaping work, skills and workforce requirements.
• Experience translating data and organisational challenges into clear insights, strategic recommendations and practical outcomes for executive decision-making.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, challenge established thinking and lead conversations shaping future priorities.
• Human-centred approach with knowledge of organisational psychology, behavioural science, human factors or workplace wellbeing (highly regarded).

The Workforce Effectiveness Centre of Excellence helps prepare CommBank and its workforce for the future. Bringing together strategic workforce forecasting, career architecture and work redesign, the team supports the organisation to anticipate how work is changing and make informed decisions about future work, skills and workforce requirements.

What your role will involve

Reporting to the Executive Manager, Workforce Effectiveness Centre of Excellence, you'll form part of the broader Workforce Readiness Domain. You'll connect work design with wider workforce and organisational effectiveness priorities, helping leaders make informed, future-focused decisions.

Working closely with business and HR leaders, you'll lead complex engagements from initial diagnosis through to future-state design, applying work design methodologies and insights to develop sustainable solutions that balance business, workforce and organisational considerations.

On any given day, you will

• Experience leading complex work design, organisation design, organisational effectiveness or workforce transformation initiatives, gained through specialist, consulting, HR Business Partner or related roles.
• Strong problem-solving, facilitation and storytelling capabilities, with a proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.
• An understanding of how emerging technologies, including AI, are reshaping work, skills, workforce requirements and organisational effectiveness.
• Experience translating data and organisational challenges into clear insights, strategic recommendations and practical outcomes that inform executive decision-making.
• The ability to navigate ambiguity, challenge established thinking and lead conversations that shape future workforce and organisational priorities.
• A human-centred approach, with knowledge of organisational psychology, behavioural science, human factors, psychosocial risk or workplace wellbeing being highly regarded.
