The University of Sydney is seeking a Senior Manager Insights to lead a team of Insights Analysts delivering market research, analytics and actionable insights that support student experiences and institutional performance.

Job description

  • Lead a high-performing team of Insights Analysts delivering strategic market research and data-driven insights

About the opportunity

As the Senior Manager Insights, you will lead a team of Insights Analysts to deliver high-impact market research, analytics and actionable insights that support outstanding student experiences, informed decision-making and organisational performance across the University.


Partnering with stakeholders across faculties and portfolios, you will identify opportunities to apply market research and analytics to complex challenges, translate data into meaningful recommendations, and build a strong culture of evidence-based decision-making.


You will play a key leadership role, developing team capability, fostering strong stakeholder relationships, driving innovation in research and analytics practices, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, impactful insights.


Key responsibilities


  • Lead and develop a team of Insights Analysts to deliver high-quality market research and actionable insights.

  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and provide trusted advice to support strategic decision-making.

  • Oversee the delivery of market research, analytics and insights projects from design through to implementation.

  • Drive a culture of innovation, data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.

About you


  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams in a complex environment.

  • Extensive experience delivering market research, analytics and insights projects that drive business outcomes.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence at senior levels.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for executive audiences.

  • Expertise in market research methodologies and analytical tools, including platforms such as Qualtrics and Power BI.

  • Excellent communication, project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results.
