Job summary

PwC Australia is seeking a Manager/Senior Manager to join the Business Tax team (Employee Share Schemes). You will advise private businesses on tax and commercial dimensions of ESS and incentive arrangements, working with founder-led and high-growth clients.

This role focuses on tax consulting around equity rewards rather than traditional Business Tax work, offering exposure to deal work, structuring documents, and collaboration with PwC's legal specialists.

Qualifications

• Experience in tax, legal, accounting, private business advisory, M&A, deals or corporate advisory.
• Genuine interest in employee share schemes, reward and ownership.
• Comfort reading and working with legal/commercial documents with legal team support.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills applied to client situations.
• Clear communication turning complex concepts into practical guidance.
• Strong project management, attention to detail, and prioritisation.

Responsibilities

• Advise private businesses on employee share schemes, equity incentives and broader reward structures.
• Guide clients through tax implications and how structures affect founders, employees and stakeholders.
• Design and interpret scheme documents, shareholder agreements and transaction materials with legal input.
• Support clients through growth, succession, capital raises, restructures, acquisitions, exits and IPOs.
• Determine ESS tax concession eligibility and manage reporting to authorities and employees.
• Prepare clear client advice, presentations and recommendations on complex tax and reward issues.
• Collaborate across tax, legal, private business, deals, valuations, payroll and reward teams.
• Lead day-to-day client delivery, manage workstreams and contribute to business development.
