As Senior Manager- Controls Assurance, you'll lead and evolve TMBL's Controls Assurance function, providing independent oversight of control effectiveness across the Bank's material risk categories. Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business, you'll help shape risk insights, enhance assurance practices and support informed decision-making at Executive and Board level.

What you'll do

• Own and deliver the Annual Controls Assurance Plan using a risk-based approach
• Oversee assurance reviews, monitoring activities, thematic reviews and control testing programs
• Provide independent insights into control effectiveness, emerging risks and key risk themes
• Deliver high-quality reporting and recommendations to Executive, Board Committees and governance forums
• Build trusted relationships across the business while providing constructive challenge and guidance on risk and control matters

What you'll bring

You'll be a respected risk and assurance professional who can balance technical expertise with strong stakeholder engagement. You'll bring a practical, outcomes-focused approach and the confidence to influence at senior levels across a complex, regulated environment.

• Tertiary qualifications in Risk Management, Business, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline
• Extensive experience in assurance, controls assurance, monitoring or audit roles within financial services
• Demonstrated experience leading controls assurance, control testing or monitoring programs
• Strong knowledge of Australian financial services regulatory and legislative frameworks
• Deep expertise in enterprise risk management, governance and controls assurance
• Proven people leadership experience, including coaching and developing high-performing teams
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including experience presenting to Executive and Board audiences

Nice to have

• Experience engaging with regulators, external auditors or other assurance providers
• Experience supporting remediation programs and enterprise risk transformation initiatives
• Exposure to complex banking or highly regulated environments
