Job summary

Breville is seeking a Senior Makerspace Technician to lead complex fabrication projects, operate and maintain advanced machinery, and mentor technicians within the Breville Makerspace. The role emphasizes high craftsmanship, safety, and continuous learning in a dynamic innovation environment.

You will manage inventory, coordinate with vendors, support WHS compliance, and contribute to process improvements while fostering a collaborative workshop culture.

Qualifications

• 6–9 years in prototyping and fabrication, with leadership in complex builds or projects.
• Certificate III or IV in a relevant trade (or equivalent experience).
• Experience operating advanced manufacturing equipment (CNC, laser cutting, 3D printing, and traditional workshop tools).
• Strong understanding of materials, processes, and workshop safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate advanced machining equipment, including multi‑axis CNC machinery.
• Lead high‑complexity builds from planning through delivery.
• Mentor Junior and Makerspace Technicians in advanced fabrication and finishing techniques.
• Enforce WHS compliance and identify safety improvements.
• Assist in procurement, inventory management, and vendor coordination.
• Lead or contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and capability.
