Job summary

Xpt Software Australia Pty seeks a seasoned DB2 Systems Programmer to join a global team responsible for building, configuring and maintaining the Bank’s mainframe DB2 environments. You will manage DSNZPARMs, DR planning, and performance tuning across z/OS with strong CICS and MQ integration.

Ideal candidates have extensive DB2 subsystem maintenance experience, SMP/E familiarity, and a track record of upgrading DB2 and related tools in large SysPlex environments.

Qualifications

• Must have experience evaluating and implementing new features/functions of DB2 and third party products.
• Extensive use of performance monitoring tools (BMC, CA and IBM products).
• Consultant on DB2 database applications architecture.
• Knowledge of SMP/E and applying maintenance to a DB2 subsystem.
• Engineer and execute upgrades/maintenance to DB2 and related tools.
• Maintain DSNZPARMs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain DSNZPARMs.
• Implement automated disaster recovery mechanisms for Mainframe DB2 subsystems and related third party products.
• Create & modify WLM address spaces for stored procedures as needed.
• Database security management.
• Backup/Recovery strategies.
• Strategy reviews.
• Scalability analysis.
• Database architecture design strategy.
• Plan database maintenance windows.
• Capacity planning.
• Monitor and troubleshoot DB2 address spaces.
• DB2 configuration across Mainframe LPARs.
• Prepare and execute housekeeping for DB2 Catalog/Directory.
• Implement security for DB2 via RACF.
• Troubleshoot Level 3 DB2 issues.
• Provide Level 3 support to troubleshoot system and application problems with DB2
• Coordinate with vendors as needed.
• Hands-on experience managing system operations and performance tuning.
• Experience with IBM DB2 Utilities, DR, and system restoration.
• Install, upgrade and administer mainframe DB2 and related tools.
• Assist testing and installation of new systems and product upgrades.
• Experience with DB2 migrations/upgrades for V12.1 and V13.1.
• Strong DB2 system programming, recovery, and ZPARM configuration.
• Knowledge of DB2 tools installation/upgrades for IBM utilities and Broadcom products.
• SMPE RSU maintenance procedures experience.
• Experience with JCL, ISPF, DB2 products, WLM and stored procedures.
• Knowledge of performance monitoring and troubleshooting DB2 issues.
• Strong DB2 data sharing experience and failover processes.
• DR for DB2 systems including traditional and flash copy DR.
