Job summary

XPT Software Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a Senior Mainframe DB2 Systems Programmer to join a global team in Melbourne. You will build, configure and maintain mainframe DB2 environments, ensuring high availability, performance and resilience across large SysPlex deployments.

The role requires extensive DB2 and z/OS expertise, with hands-on experience in CICS, MQSeries, RACF, SMPE, and DSNZPARMs. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and vendors is essential for 24x7 operations.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on experience with DB2 on mainframe environments.
• Expert in DB2 maintenance, migrations and DSNZPARMs.
• Experience with CICS, MQSeries, RACF security and WLM.
• Strong SMPE knowledge for RSU maintenance and product upgrades.
• Proficient in JCL and ISPF, with DF/S DSNZPARMs handling.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and upgrade DB2 subsystems and DSNZPARMs.
• Implement automated disaster recovery for DB2 subsystems.
• Configure WLM address spaces for stored procedures.
• Plan DB2 maintenance windows and capacity planning.
• Troubleshoot DB2 issues and coordinate with vendors.
