Job summary

AGL Energy in Melbourne Docklands is seeking a Senior Analyst for its Load Forecasting team. You will develop, operate and maintain short to medium-term electricity and gas demand forecasts, and enhance them with high-quality quantitative analysis.

Based in Melbourne, you will lead the SAP-to-Databricks transition, automate pipelines, and collaborate with Trading & Portfolio Management to inform hedging and risk decisions while advancing AI and data tools across the forecasting function.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Mathematics, Engineering or a related quantitative discipline.
• Strong statistics and ML foundations.
• Hands-on programming and tooling experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate, timely demand forecasts to manage trading positions and hedge.
• Lead the SAP to Databricks transition with automation across pipelines.
• Operationalise forecasting models end-to-end and retrain as needed.
• Partner with Pricing and stakeholders, translating insights for varied audiences.
• Improve forecasting systems and provide strategic market insights aligned with risk policies.
