Job summary

Wolf & Williams is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel ANZ – Construction (Major Transport Projects) to provide commercially astute legal advice and to lead tender processes for high-value projects across the ANZ region.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years in front-end construction and related transactions, with a mix of private practice and in-house experience, and the ability to mentor junior team members while navigating complex procurement strategies.

Qualifications

• 8+ years' experience in front-end construction, projects and related transactions.
• Able to lead a project.
• Private practice and in-house experience preferred.
• Commercially astute with ability to drive outcomes and think laterally.

Responsibilities

• Leading and project-managing tender processes for major projects (from initiation to award).
• Mentoring and developing junior members of the legal team.
• Negotiating high-value PPP contracts with deal values from $40 million to over $2 billion.
• Advising on procurement strategies, including PPPs, competitive bidding and alternative delivery models.
• Drafting and reviewing project-specific legal documents to support mobilisation.
• Advising on regulatory compliance matters during pre- and post-construction phases.
• Structuring transactions and supporting major project deals across the ANZ region.
• Collaborating with external counsel on health and safety compliance and investigations.
