Job summary

Wolf & Williams, a specialist legal recruitment firm, is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel for a major Australian infrastructure portfolio. You will provide end-to-end legal support on construction, procurement and project agreements, and work with senior leaders across legal, commercial and development teams.

This hands-on role offers autonomy, exposure to complex, large-scale projects and the opportunity to influence strategic growth initiatives across Australia.

Qualifications

• 7+ years' PQE in infrastructure, construction, projects or energy.
• Experience from law firm or in-house teams.
• Strong commercial contracting and negotiation skills.

Wolf & Williams have partnered with a well-regarded international infrastructure business with an impressive pipeline of major Australian projects. Reporting into a highly commercial legal leader, this broad role will involve advising on project development, commercial contracts, governance and strategic business initiatives across a growing portfolio of infrastructure assets.

They are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to step into this growth role to support their growing, and well-regarded legal team working on complex, large-scale projects across Australia

About the Role

You will provide legal support across a broad range of major infrastructure, energy and development projects, including:

• Advising on construction, procurement and project-related agreements;
• Supporting project development, bids and strategic growth initiatives;
• Negotiating commercial arrangements with contractors, consultants and key stakeholders;
• Providing advice on governance, risk and day-to-day commercial matters;
• Partnering with senior leaders across legal, commercial and development teams.

This is a hands-on role offering significant autonomy, exposure to complex projects and the opportunity to contribute to the growth of a highly regarded infrastructure business.

About You

• 7+ years' PQE with experience across infrastructure, construction, projects and/or energy;
• Background from a reputable law firm, in-house legal team or a combination of both;
• Strong commercial contracting and negotiation skills, with experience supporting complex projects;
• Pragmatic, commercially focused and comfortable working closely with senior decision-makers;
• Capable of managing multiple workstreams in a dynamic and fast-moving environment;
• Looking for a broad role offering genuine responsibility and exposure to major project and business initiatives.

This will suit a strong construction/ projects lawyer who enjoys being close to the commercial drivers of large-scale infrastructure development.
