Perigon Group seeks a senior funds-management lawyer to lead the legal function for investment products in Australia. You will oversee the full lifecycle from establishment and launch to ongoing operation, amendments, restructures and terminations, with a focus on disclosures, constitutions and trust deeds.

You’ll advise senior stakeholders with autonomy, mentor a Legal Counsel, and collaborate with external counsel on complex matters within a dynamic funds platform.

Formación

• 8+ years’ PAE with funds management experience.
• Significant product experience including fund establishment and disclosure.
• Confident advising senior stakeholders with strong autonomy.
• Commercial, pragmatic, balancing legal risk with business goals.

My client is a fast-growing funds management business that partners with Australian and offshore investment managers to launch, operate and distribute funds in the Australian market. They’re one of the most active businesses in the country when it comes to setting up new funds, and with significant growth ahead, the legal team is expanding.

The role

You’ll lead legal matters across the full lifecycle of the group’s investment products, including:

• Product development, establishment and launch
• Ongoing operation, amendments, restructures and terminations
• Disclosure documents, fund constitutions and trust deeds
• Regulatory change and its impact on products and processes
• Instructing and managing external counsel on significant matters
• Supporting broader corporate, commercial and governance projects

You’ll also mentor a Legal Counsel, who is being recruited alongside this role.

About you

• 8+ years’ PAE, with significant funds management experience
• Strong, hands-on product experience, including fund establishment, disclosure and fund documentation
• Confident advising senior stakeholders and working with a high degree of autonomy
• Commercial, pragmatic and comfortable balancing legal risk with business objectives

You might be in-house at a fund manager or platform, or a senior associate in a funds team at a law firm. Public or private markets experience is equally welcome.
