PQE Partners Pty, in Sydney, is seeking a funds and investments lawyer to join its legal team. The role is dedicated to supporting the organisation’s investment portfolio and sits within an established function.
Ideal candidates have around 3–7+ years’ PQE in funds or investment management, with experience advising on investment management arrangements, drafting agreements, regulatory matters, and managing disputes. The role offers ownership and a four-day working week for suitable remuneration.
PQE Partners are working with a leading financial services organisation looking to hire a funds and investments lawyer to its Sydney legal team.
The role sits within an established legal function and will be the key legal position dedicated to supporting the organisation’s significant and active investment portfolio.
The team is ideally looking for someone around 3–7 PQE, although there is flexibility to consider a more senior lawyer, particularly someone seeking a four-day working week.
Reporting to the Head of Legal and working closely with the executive responsible for investments and their senior team, you will:
You will be a qualified lawyer with experience in funds and/or investment management gained within a fund, financial institution or leading law firm.
Ideally, you will bring:
You do not need experience across every aspect of the role. Of greater importance is a strong grounding in funds and investment management and the ability to operate commercially within a sophisticated investment environment.
The role offers an unusual level of ownership. You will be the dedicated lawyer supporting the investments function, working directly with an experienced and close-knit investment leadership team, while still having the support of a broader legal team.
The scale and activity of the organisation’s investment portfolio also makes this a particularly interesting opportunity for someone who wants exposure comparable to a large institutional investor or superannuation fund, rather than a narrower financial services legal role.
There is flexibility around seniority and the team is open to considering an experienced lawyer seeking a four-day working week, subject to remuneration.
