Job summary

The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) seeks a leader to head the Living Collections & Assets team at the Australian National Botanic Gardens (ANBG), promoting a collaborative, high-performing culture.

You will mentor staff, manage site operations, budgets, capital works, and procurement, and contribute to ANBG leadership priorities, including the Management Plan and Living Collection Strategy.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver site operations, annual work programs, budgets, and upkeep of horticultural and facilities maintenance to ANBG goals.
• Support capital works programs, procurement, and contract management.
• Join the ANBG leadership team and advance the Management Plan and Living Collection Strategy.

Job description

Leading and managing the Living Collections & Assets team, fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture and building staff capability through mentoring, training and development.

Key responsibilities

• Planning and delivering site operations, including annual work programs, budgets, and continuous improvement of horticultural and facilities maintenance practices to ANBG objectives.
• Supporting the development and delivery of capital works programs, as well as procurement and contract management.
• Participating in the ANBG leadership team and contributing to ANBG leadership priorities, including implementation of the Management Plan and Living Collection Strategy.
