Job summary

Toowoomba Regional Council is seeking a Principal Community Development to provide strategic leadership for the Community Development function across the Toowoomba Region. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team to design, deliver and evaluate place-based initiatives that strengthen community resilience and social outcomes.

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for Council’s Community Development function to deliver coordinated, evidence-based programs, services and initiatives across the Toowoomba Region.
• Lead a multi-disciplinary team and drive the design, delivery and evaluation of place-based initiatives that strengthen community capacity, resilience, wellbeing, inclusion and social outcomes.
• Provide high-level leadership to shape Council’s approach to community wellbeing, social inclusion and community activation, ensuring integration across Council services and measurable, sustainable outcomes.
• Build and sustain partnerships with government, non-government and community stakeholders to support coordinated planning and service delivery.
• Provide strategic leadership for Human and Social Recovery to meet obligations across prevention, preparedness, response and recovery, and to support community-centred recovery outcomes.]
