North Burnett Regional Council in Monto is seeking a Community Development Stream Leader to guide a cross-functional team delivering programs that strengthen communities across the region.

The role blends strategic leadership with hands-on delivery across community development, RADF, major events and disaster recovery, with out-of-hours commitments possible. You will build partnerships, manage budgets, develop policies, and drive safe, inclusive, and resilient communities.

Qualifications

• Experience leading diverse teams and managing significant projects and events.
• Ability to prepare high-quality strategies and reports.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders.
• Budget management, program coordination, and policy development experience.

Responsabilités

• Provide effective supervision and leadership of a dynamic cross-functional team.
• Provide high-quality customer service and stakeholder support across community development areas.
• Lead coordination of Council’s Community Grants and RADF programs.
• Provide specialist advice on community development practices and initiatives.
• Build networks and partnerships with community leaders and agencies.
• Lead community development initiatives for resilience and inclusion.
• Deliver major events such as Australia Day and Citizenship Ceremonies.
• Support disaster management, recovery, and social/economic outcomes.
• Develop, implement, and review policies, procedures, and systems.
• Manage the Community Development Stream expenditure budget and annual planning.
• Prepare high-quality plans, reports, or strategies.
