Job summary

Marand Precision Engineering, part of ASDAM Group, seeks a Lead Engineer to drive the technical delivery of complex automation and advanced manufacturing projects in Australia.

The role is the key technical interface between Marand and customers, translating requirements into practical, innovative engineering solutions across mechanical and electrical domains. You will lead cross-disciplinary teams and deliver technically sound, commercially viable outcomes.

Qualifications

• A formal Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification.
• Current professional engineering registration — applicants must be a registered engineer to be considered.
• 5+ years’ experience in a senior engineering role.
• Strong experience with pneumatic and/or hydraulic systems.
• Experience working with dynamic, complex systems in industrial or automated environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to take ownership, make sound technical decisions and see projects through from concept to delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of mechanical and electrical engineering solutions for automation and complex industrial applications.
• Translate customer requirements into practical, innovative and robust technical solutions.
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers, building strong relationships and providing expert engineering guidance.
• Take ownership of technical scope, requirements, budget, risk and quality across engineering projects.
• Lead technical discussions and communicate complex engineering concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Develop engineering and design schedules and ensure designs meet customer, statutory and internal requirements.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, project management, manufacturing and other functions.
• Produce and review high-quality engineering and technical documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve designs, processes and engineering outcomes.
