Job summary

Technical Resources is seeking a Senior/Lead Electrical Designer for Perth. You will deliver electrical drawings, schematics and 3D models across brownfield and greenfield projects. You will coordinate with engineers and multi-disciplinary teams to ensure design quality and timely delivery.

The role requires 7+ years in electrical design, strong MicroStation skills and exposure to industry standards. Site visits and documentation are integral to the role.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering qualifications or relevant technical training.
• 7+ years of electrical design experience.
• Experience in industrial, mining or infrastructure environments.
• Proficiency with Electrical schematics, wiring and termination drawings.
• Experience with cable tray layouts and equipment layouts.
• Exposure to 3D electrical design packages and drafting standards.

Responsibilities

• Producing electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams and termination drawings.
• Developing cable tray layouts and cable routing.
• Preparing electrical equipment layouts and area classification drawings.
• Producing material take-offs and supporting project documentation.
• Completing 3D electrical design and modelling.
• Undertaking site visits, field verification and as-built mark-ups.
• Reviewing drawings and technical documentation for accuracy and quality.
• Supporting commissioning and project delivery activities.
• Coordinating with Mechanical, Piping, Structural and other engineering disciplines.
• Working with project teams and clients to resolve design issues.
• Supporting multiple projects and design packages concurrently.

We are seeking an experienced Senior/Lead Electrical Designer to join an established engineering team delivering industrial and resources projects.

This position would suit an Electrical Designer with strong electrical drafting and design capability who is comfortable working across brownfield and greenfield projects, from site verification through to detailed design and project delivery.

The role Working closely with electrical engineers, project leads and other design disciplines, you will be responsible for:

• Producing electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams and termination drawings
• Developing cable tray layouts and cable routing
• Preparing electrical equipment layouts and area classification drawings
• Producing material take-offs and supporting project documentation
• Completing 3D electrical design and modelling
• Undertaking site visits, field verification and as-built mark-ups

About you

We are looking for someone with:

• Electrical Engineering, Electrical Design or relevant technical qualifications
• Around 7+ years' electrical design experience
• Experience working within industrial, mining, minerals processing, infrastructure or similar project environments
• StrongMicroStation capability - knowledge of BHP and Rio standards.
• Experience producing electrical schematics, wiring and termination drawings
• Experience with cable tray and electrical equipment layouts
• Exposure to 3D electrical design packages
• Good understanding of electrical design standards and drafting practices
• Strong attention to detail and document quality
• Ability to work effectively with engineers, designers and project teams
• Willingness to undertake site visits when required
