Youth Justice and Victim Support in Brisbane is seeking a Principal Learning and Development Officer to lead a training team responsible for designing, delivering, coordinating and quality assuring professional learning for Youth Detention staff.

You will develop workforce capability across operational staff, including therapeutic support, safety and security, and emergency response, and oversee induction and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Experience leading training teams in youth services or equivalent.
• Ability to design and deliver professional learning and development programs using evidence-informed adult learning principles.
• Ability to manage multiple training initiatives and coordinate with senior stakeholders.

Responsabilités

• Lead and supervise a training team to create a safe, respectful and inclusive workforce culture.
• Lead and develop the local YD Training team to meet statewide and local centre needs.
• Allocate, prioritise and perform tasks in line with procedures and delegations.
• Participate in statewide YD Training planning and decision-making.
• Deliver and facilitate learning programs for YDC staff based on workforce needs and evidence-informed practice.
• Manage complex projects for learning and development initiatives.
• Coordinate training across YDCs, service centres and central office.
• Prepare submissions, reports and briefs to senior executives.
