Job summary

Reserve Bank of Australia’s IT Payments Applications team seeks a Senior Java Developer to shape upgrades to Australia’s real-time payments infrastructure. You will design, code, test, and review solutions in a fast-paced, team-focused environment with a strong emphasis on value delivery and enterprise standards.

You will apply Java/Spring, XML, REST/SOAP, and CI/CD skills, collaborate with stakeholders, and guide peers while contributing to continuous improvement and innovation within the

Qualifications

• Hands-on Java/Spring tech stack experience.
• In-depth XML knowledge.
• Proficient in JavaScript libraries including jQuery.

Responsibilities

• Perform systems analysis and design changes to systems.
• Maintain knowledge of tools and software packages used.
• Research new software/tools to ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to refine requirements and ensure they are met.
• Comply with Bank policies and guidelines for software development and tool selection.
• Lead identification and breakdown of development components and tasks with estimates.
• Guide other developers through development decisions.
• Support cross-team collaboration.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation.
• Develop code for systems and integration services and review peers' code.
• Ensure unit and integration tests meet Bank standards and coverage.
