Macquarie Group in Sydney is seeking a highly motivated Java Developer to join the DevOps Account team supporting front office trading systems in Equity Derivatives. You will collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, code, test, and participate in production deployment and upgrades.

The role emphasizes high-performance, low-latency trading applications and strong Capital Markets experience, including Equities Trading and DMA.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Java Full Stack development with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs and microservices.
• Strong Capital Markets experience in Equities Trading, DMA and electronic trading platforms.
• Experience with high-performance distributed systems and messaging protocols, including FIX.
• Understand trade lifecycle, order management, execution workflows, and market data processing.
• Experience building scalable, low-latency trading applications.
• Knowledge of Equity Finance, Securities Lending, Prime Brokerage, and Equity Swaps is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders and analysts to define requirements and work with the team on coding and testing.
• Participate in production deployment and upgrade tasks, with a focus on stability.
• Provide production support and engage with users of the system.
• Deliver platform enhancements following industry best practices and maintain quality standards.
• Build relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders and be a SME for third-level queries.
