Job summary

Shura is seeking an experienced Java Developer for a government contract in Canberra. The role focuses on designing, developing, maintaining, and modernising critical enterprise applications within a Federal Government environment.

You will contribute to ICT initiatives, work with cross-functional teams, and deliver high-quality solutions while adhering to governance frameworks and procedures. NV1 clearance or higher is required.

Qualifications

• Experience developing and maintaining robust, scalable enterprise applications using Java and Java EE.
• Strong ability to prioritise tasks and deliver high-quality solutions on time.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement across dispersed teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with drive for change and improvement.
• IT qualifications, experience in software upgrades, and understanding of government ICT frameworks.
• NV1 clearance or higher.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance and test enterprise software applications per requirements and standards.
• Troubleshoot issues, optimise performance and modernise systems.
• Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to deliver solutions and meet objectives.
• Produce high-quality technical documentation and mentor junior developers.
• Ensure governance compliance and support critical operational activities.
