Nasdaq in Sydney, Australia, seeks a Senior Java Developer to own end-to-end development across backend systems, security, and cross‑platform work. The role combines building new features with evolving existing products, reporting to the Director – Software Engineering, and requires a proactive, curious mindset to solve complex problems with global impact.

The position is located in Sydney with a hybrid work arrangement (in‑office at least 2 days a week, potentially increasing).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience
• At least 3 years strong, hands-on Java development skills with a solid understanding of software design principles, data structures, and algorithms
• Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases — including design, analysis, and querying
• Proven experience with continuous integration and deployment practices Demonstrated ability to write secure, testable, and maintainable code
• Experience with cross-platform or multi-environment development

As a Senior Java Developer reporting to Director – Software Engineering, you'll take end-to-end ownership of meaningful technical challenges — from understanding requirements to shipping production-ready solutions. You'll work across backend systems, security, and cross-platform development, contributing to both new builds and the evolution of existing products.

This position will be located in Sydney, Australia and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 2 days a week in‑office (may increase to 3 days in the future).
