Job summary

Fugro Australia Pty Ltd seeks an experienced IT Systems Support Administrator to keep Fugro’s global marine operations running smoothly. You will support critical IT systems powering vessels, field environments and geodata workflows, and troubleshoot, maintain and enhance the systems teams depend on daily.

You will work across a dynamic technical landscape, act as a first contact for end users, and collaborate with OT Services to deploy infrastructure, monitor alerts and deliver reliable IT

Qualifications

• Tertiary IT qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience in IT service management processes (ITIL) and ITSM tooling.
• Strong grounding in desktop and server infrastructure across Windows and Linux.

Responsibilities

• Act as first point of contact for end users and second-line escalation for support staff.
• Liaise with OT Services to deploy standard infrastructure and monitor systems.
• Monitor ticket status and provide weekly reports while applying standard solutions.
• Execute periodic maintenance tasks including patching, backups and restores.
• Coordinate hardware purchasing and logistics for system updates and maintenance.
• Support cyber security initiatives and respond to field-reported issues.
• Create IT infrastructure and support documentation when required.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced IT Systems Support Administrator to join our Perth team and help keep Fugro’s global marine operations running smoothly. In this role, you’ll support the critical IT systems that power our vessels, remote field environments and geodata workflows, ensuring safe, efficient and reliable operations worldwide. You will work across a fast‑paced, highly varied technical landscape, drawing on your background in IT support or system administration to troubleshoot, maintain and enhance the systems our teams depend on every day. Your duties

• Act as the first point of contact for end users in the field or remote operations centers and as 2nd line escalation point for Support Assistants and Administrators;
• Liaise with Operational Technology (OT) Services teams to support deployment of standard infrastructure and systems as well as monitor systems and handle alerts according to procedures;
• Monitor the status of open tickets and provide weekly reports to the responsible parties while implementing standard solutions and completing tasks as instructed;
• Complete periodic system maintenance tasks and report on these including system patching, backup and standard restore tasks;
• Coordinate purchasing and logistics for hardware maintenance, the roll out of systems updates and in response to monitoring alerts;
• Support cyber security initiatives and respond to cyber issues reported by field personnel and escalate where necessary;
• Generate support activities with external vendors and create IT infrastructure and systems support related work instruction documentation when required.

The Operational Technology (OT) Services team is part of Fugro’s global IT Infrastructure and Security team. At OT Services we provide IT support to facilitate Fugro’s vessels and field operations, remote operations and processing of Geo-data collected during those operations. Within OT Services, the Deployment team coordinates and executes full scale deployment of IT infrastructure onboard Fugro’s marine vessels operating globally.

About You

• Tertiary degree or certificate in Information Technology, Computer Science or related fields;
• Proven experience in similar roles or work within the marine/offshore industries with good understanding of IT service management process (ITIL) and ITSM tools;
• Solid technical knowledge on both desktop and server infrastructure, enterprise applications and multiple platforms such as Windows & Linux;
• Pro‑active and dynamic approach to work with the ability to demonstrate critical thinking and problem‑solving skills using appropriate data analysis, interpretation;
• Strong communications skills to interact effectively at all organizational levels and able to generate written instructions and support documentation.
