Job summary

Macquarie Bank Limited in Sydney seeks a Senior Engineer to design, build, and operate our workplace collaboration platforms and productivity tools. You will set the bar for code quality, testing, and security while leading integrations and API design across teams.

Qualifications

• Experience running complex engineering initiatives in an Agile environment.
• Expert-level experience with Java, caching, NoSQL databases, and cloud technologies (Google Cloud).
• Deep knowledge of microservices, event-driven architecture, and integration patterns.
• Strong on building scalable, maintainable, and performant orchestration across platforms.
• Ability to assess impact and risks for major design options while meeting functional and non-functional requirements.
• Working knowledge of containerisation, CI/CD, RESTful APIs, webhooks, and open-source tooling.
• Curious, forward-thinking approach with enthusiasm for AI to lift productivity across the team.
• Ability to drive architecture decisions across a platform and communicate them clearly.

What role will you play?

As a Senior Engineer in the team, you will design, build, and operate our workplace collaboration platforms and productivity tools. You'll work alongside a team of engineers and set the bar for code quality, testing, and security. Your responsibilities will include building integrations and automation for employee collaboration platforms, designing scalable APIs and services, reviewing pull requests, and simplifying complex workflows and processes. You will also explore new technologies, AI capabilities, and vendor APIs, ensuring our team remains at the forefront of workplace innovation.
