Job summary

Macquarie Group is seeking a Senior Engineer to design, build, and operate our workplace collaboration platforms. You will drive integrations, scalable APIs, and services while upholding code quality, testing, and security.

You will explore AI capabilities and vendor APIs to keep the platform at the forefront of innovation. You will contribute to complex engineering initiatives in an Agile environment, with strong experience in Java, caching, NoSQL, and Google Cloud.

Qualifications

• Experience running complex engineering initiatives in Agile environments.
• Expert-level hands-on with Java, caching, NoSQL databases, and cloud technologies.
• Deep knowledge of microservices, event-driven arch., and integration patterns.
• Scale, maintainability, and performance across platforms.
• Strong on impact analysis and risk management for major design options.
• Knowledge of containerisation, CI/CD, RESTful APIs, webhooks, and OSS tooling.
• Curious with AI tooling to lift team productivity and leverage technology.

What role will you play?

As a Senior Engineer in the team, you will design, build, and operate our workplace collaboration platforms and productivity tools. You'll work alongside a team of engineers and set the bar for code quality, testing, and security. Your responsibilities will include building integrations and automation for employee collaboration platforms, designing scalable APIs and services, reviewing pull requests, and simplifying complex workflows and processes. You will also explore new technologies, AI capabilities, and vendor APIs, ensuring our team remains at the forefront of workplace innovation.

What You Offer

• Experience running complex engineering initiatives and shipping great products in an Agile environment
• In-depth, expert-level hands-on experience with Java, caching, NoSQL databases, and cloud technologies (Google Cloud)
• Deep knowledge of microservices, event-driven architecture, and integration patterns
• Solid grasp of how to build scalable, maintainable, and performant orchestration across our platforms
• Strong on impact analysis and risk management for major design options, ensuring designs meet functional and non-functional requirements
• Working knowledge of containerisation, CI/CD, RESTful APIs, webhooks, and modern open-source tooling
• Curious, forward-thinking approach with a genuine eagerness to use AI tools and engineering leverage to lift your own and the team's productivity
• Ability to drive key architecture and design decisions across a platform, and communicate them clearly at all levels of the organisation
