Job summary

Axiom Law is seeking an experienced lawyer with insurance sector expertise to join the Corporate Legal team of an Australian-based insurance company. The role requires a strong blend of commercial and insurance experience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

You will provide practical legal support across insurance products, draft and review vendor agreements, and advise on product and regulatory matters, while autonomously managing matters and aligning with the organisation's

Qualifications

• 7–16+ years’ experience, including in-house experience in insurance/financial services.
• Experience advising on insurance/financial products and reviewing marketing materials.
• Strong commercial contracting experience, especially vendor agreements and procurement.
• Tech-savvy and quick to adapt; familiarity with matter management tools like Claude and Checkbox.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical legal support across insurance products including health, life, and disability insurance.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial vendor agreements with procurement teams.
• Advise on product, distribution and regulatory matters including marketing materials.
• Manage matters autonomously, applying risk appetite and delivering work promptly.
