Job summary

NES Fircroft in Darwin, Northern Territory, seeks a Senior Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Engineer for its operations team. The role is a 12-month contract requiring full Australian working rights.

The engineer will support safe, efficient operation of assets, lead I&C design modifications, and drive changes within the management of change framework while collaborating with operations and maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.
• TUV or Equivalent Functional Safety Engineer.
• Experience in instrument and control design for operating assets.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to operating assets to achieve safe, efficient and optimum operation.
• Act as technical focal point for instrument and control design modifications.
• Ensure modifications follow the management of change system.
• Provide discipline expertise for day-to-day instrumentation and third party packages.
• Support completion of engineering operations assurance plan tasks.
• Provide instrument and control support during facility shutdowns.
• Participate in or lead incident investigations.
• Identify and justify future work programs and ensure inclusion in budgets.
• Support revalidation of HAZOP/LOPA/AoA reviews.
• Prepare SCR (Software Change Requests) for instrument and control changes.
• Ensure plant technical integrity is protected and equipment is specified correctly.
