These inspections will typically include leading compliance checks issued under the State-wide Inspection Program as well as other activities identified by regional intelligence.

Requiring a degree of judgement, discretion and experience, Senior Inspectors undertake more complex inspections of traders as they arise, including where there is a history of previous compliance breaches, or following a complaint of specific breaches.

Senior Inspectors also perform front line dispute resolution, provide business and community education and lead or coordinate CAV campaign initiatives, as well as mentor CAV staff and provide leadership to workforce planning and implementation to ensure strategic priorities are achieved.

The Senior Inspector role in the Central Area of Community Operations is based at Mildura and will outreach to other locations across regional Victoria and into northwest metropolitan Melbourne as required.

This can include obtaining comprehensive written statements and affidavits for use in legal proceedings as directed by CAV, as well as issuing infringement notices
