Job summary

Service Stream is seeking a hands-on Systems Engineer (Infrastructure) to join our Enterprise Technology team. This role balances day-to-day operational support with continuous improvement and security uplift initiatives, focusing on Windows/Linux, AWS/Azure, Microsoft 365, and security.

The position offers hybrid work with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote, with preference for Melbourne yet open to Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide or Perth. Australian citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in systems administration or infrastructure engineering within a medium to large enterprise environment.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Windows Server and Linux environments, ensuring systems remain secure, patched, and highly available.
• Manage AWS and Azure cloud infrastructure, including compute, storage, networking, identity, and cost optimisation.
• Oversee OS and application patching, vulnerability remediation, and Essential Eight-aligned controls.
• Deliver security hardening and remediation activities.
• Support Microsoft 365 administration across Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and Intune.
• Maintain enterprise networking infrastructure, including firewalls, DNS, VPNs, load balancing, and network hardware lifecycle management.
• Develop Infrastructure-as-Code and automation solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep, PowerShell, Python, and Ansible.
• Contribute to DevOps practices, including version control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployments.
• Manage backup, recovery, resilience, and disaster recovery processes.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, and runbooks.
