Job summary

Service Stream is seeking a hands-on Systems Engineer to maintain and improve our infrastructure, cloud platforms, and Microsoft 365 environment from the Collins Street office with genuine hybrid flexibility.

You will work across Windows and Linux, AWS and Azure, and enterprise networking to keep systems secure, reliable and efficient while automating repetitive tasks and driving security uplift.

Qualifications

• Must be an Australian Citizen.
• 3+ years' experience in systems administration or infrastructure engineering in a medium to large enterprise.
• Strong Windows Server administration including AD, DNS, DHCP.
• Practical Linux administration and troubleshooting.
• Experience with AWS services (EC2, IAM, VPC, S3).
• Microsoft 365 administration across user, device and license management.
• Exposure to vulnerability management, security hardening and patching.
• Enterprise networking concepts and technologies.
• Vendor management and software licensing experience.
• Automation using PowerShell and/or Python.

Responsibilities

• Keep Windows Server and Linux environments secure, patched and performing.
• Administer and optimise AWS and Azure services across compute, storage, networking and identity.
• Patch and remediation activities to improve security posture.
• Manage SSL/TLS certificate lifecycle for availability and protection.
• Administer Microsoft 365 including Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and Intune.
• Support enterprise networking technologies (firewalls, VPNs, DNS, load balancing).
• Manage software licences renewals and vendor relationships.
• Monitor infrastructure and respond to incidents; perform root cause analysis.
• Automate tasks using PowerShell, Python and IaC approaches.
• Support backup, recovery and resilience processes; maintain runbooks.
