Job summary

Georgiou, now part of STRABAG SE, invites applications for an Operations Manager in NSW. You will lead across a portfolio of major infrastructure projects, focusing on safety, delivery excellence and commercial performance.

This role also acts as a trusted advisor for strategic planning, client relationships and identifying growth opportunities for Georgiou. You will mentor Project Managers and senior leaders, support tender reviews and contribute to workforce planning.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated success leading major complex D&C infrastructure projects.
• Experience across major transport, water or similarly complex infrastructure sectors.
• Strong strategic capability and influence at project and business unit level.
• Proven ability to build executive-level client and stakeholder relationships.
• Strong commercial acumen with contracts, risks and margins.
• Experience overseeing multiple projects and portfolio management.
• Strong people leadership, coaching and high-performing teams.
• Ability to set clear expectations and navigate challenging conversations.
• Understanding of project establishment, mobilisation, governance and controls.
• Identify emerging risks, gaps and opportunities and drive action.
• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a portfolio of major infrastructure projects to achieve safety, operational and commercial outcomes.
• Develop and maintain trusted relationships with clients, partners and stakeholders.
• Understand client needs and position Georgiou for future opportunities and repeat work.
• Support business development through market intelligence, industry engagement and client relationship management.
• Provide strategic input into the growth and future direction of the NSW business.
• Partner with project teams to optimise project performance, forecast accuracy, contractual position, risk management and profitability.
• Drive consistency across project delivery, governance, systems and operational excellence.
• Mentor, coach and develop Project Managers and senior leaders while fostering a high-performance culture.
• Build leadership capability across the business through succession planning and talent development.
• Critically review project performance and implement actions that improve commercial, operational and client outcomes.
• Support tender reviews, project mobilisation and key project transitions.
• Contribute to workforce planning, resourcing and business planning initiatives.
