Job summary

ASJ Tech Pty Ltd in Canberra is recruiting two PostgreSQL DBAs to manage and automate enterprise PostgreSQL (EDB) platforms in a large Australian Government environment. The role is hands-on and focuses on running highly available production databases, deploying them as code with Ansible across RHEL, OpenShift and VMware.

You'll implement HADR replication with EFM, PEM deployment, backups, PITR, and cross-platform migrations, while enforcing LDAP/AD, RBAC and TLS security.

Qualifications

• Experience managing PostgreSQL databases in production environments.
• Experience with Ansible CI/CD deployments for PostgreSQL.
• Strong skills in performance tuning, replication and HA troubleshooting.
• Experience with EDB tools (EFM/PEM) and security controls.

ASJ Tech is recruiting two experienced PostgreSQL DBAs to run and automate enterprise PostgreSQL (EDB) platforms for a large Australian Government environment.

This is a hands-on role for a DBA who automates. You'll look after highly available production databases and deploy them as code with Ansible across RHEL, OpenShift and VMware.

What you'll do

• Configure and manage HADR replication clusters with EDB Failover Manager (EFM).
• Install and administer EDB Postgres Enterprise Manager (PEM), including agents, monitoring and alerting.
• Deploy PostgreSQL as code with Ansible CI/CD across RHEL, OpenShift and VMware.
• Run backup and recovery, including PITR and WAL archiving, plus version upgrades and cross-platform migrations.
• Harden PostgreSQL security with LDAP/AD integration, RBAC, TLS and X.509 certificates.
• Configure Argo CD deployments with GitLab, and automate with Python and shell.

What you'll bring

• 5+ years' PostgreSQL database administration in production.
• Ansible CI/CD deployments of PostgreSQL in RHEL, OpenShift and VMware environments.
• Infrastructure as code experience.
• Strong performance tuning, replication and high-availability troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• PostgreSQL security controls experience.

Highly regarded

• Hands-on EDB EFM and PEM.
