Job summary

A Queensland Government department is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support assessment and direction of ICT systems and business capabilities. Start 30 November 2027 for approximately 6 months with potential extension.

You’ll collaborate with business, technology and architecture teams, and engage with government and community stakeholders. You will review the current environment, define future requirements and prepare recommendations for executives and program governance.

Qualifications

• Experience producing reports, business cases, options papers and executive presentations.
• Strong communication, consultation and negotiation skills with clear, timely advice.
• Project management experience; Agile experience preferred.
• Ability to work with business, technical and architecture stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assess current systems, processes, reporting, risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Lead development of business and solution requirements.
• Map current and future-state processes, operating models and capability needs.
• Research market and assess ICT solutions against business requirements.
• Facilitate stakeholder consultations and workshops.
• Conduct gap and fit analysis aligned with architecture and investments.
• Assess impacts and change requirements to minimise risk and support service continuity.
• Prepare decision papers, options assessments and presentations for executives and governance forums.
