Job summary

Arrow Energy in Brisbane seeks a Principal Hydrologist / Surface Water Engineer to develop and implement processes identifying and managing surface hydrological impacts from operations. The role leads a cross-disciplinary team, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and stakeholder commitments while providing technical authority on hydrology and flood risk.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years of experience in hydrology and hydraulics, flood modelling or flood risk management.
• Demonstrated competence in hydrologic and hydraulic assessments (RORB and TUFLOW).
• Understanding of water and environmental legislation and how to translate requirements into procedures.
• Experience in risk assessment and managing contractor/external stakeholder relations.
• Strong OH&S practices for field work and excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Be the technical authority for overland flow, flooding and subsidence monitoring.
• Represent Arrow in public and technical forums regarding processes and subsidence management.
• Ensure compliance with Environmental Authorities, Water Act and related regulations.
• Lead an interdisciplinary team to deliver modelling, monitoring and management programs.
• Engage with stakeholders and regulators to demonstrate compliance and progress.
• Establish positive working relationships with key stakeholders and uphold Arrow values.
