Job summary

Ausgrid invites a Network Connections Planning Manager to lead a skilled engineering team powering NSW’s energy future. You’ll guide complex connection studies, manage planning under regulatory rules, and collaborate with AEMO, Transgrid and EnergyCo to advance large generator and load connections.

Hybrid role based in NSW with the Newcastle or Sydney HQ. You’ll bring senior transmission/distribution planning experience, powerful modelling expertise, and strong leadership and stakeholder skills

Qualifications

• Senior experience in transmission and/or distribution network planning.
• Deep knowledge of power systems modelling for planning studies.
• Expert knowledge of NER connection framework and related acts.
• Demonstrated leadership of technical professionals.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
• Ability to write executive-level documents for regulators and customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers performing planning studies and modelling for connecting large generators and heavy loads.
• Oversee connection processes under NER Chapter 5 and work with AEMO for registration and commissioning.
• Develop and implement tools and software to support planning studies.
• Provide governance for Ausgrid’s planning knowledge and best practices.
• Collaborate with customers, regulators, and industry bodies to progress complex connections.
• Represent Ausgrid in NSW-wide strategic planning and regulatory submissions.
